Year-over-year recurring revenue retention from existing customers, including expansion.

What it actually means.

NDR = (Starting MRR + Expansion − Contraction − Churn) ÷ Starting MRR. Best-in-class SaaS: > 130%. Healthy: 110–120%. Below 100% means the existing book is shrinking — you can't outrun that with new sales.
